Description
ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) are funds that can be traded intraday on Stock Exchanges in the same way as Corporate Shares. ETFs are investment funds, most of the times, passively managed that replicate a benchmark in order to reproduce the same results.
Some ETFs replicate performance of a specific Stock Index, Currency Index, Commodity Index or invest directly on a specific Commodity (Gold, Silver, Copper, Oil...), defined as ETCs (Exchange Traded Commodity). Most ETFs are designed to replicate the benchmark 1:1, while others seek to replicate the opposite results of the Index, following short positions, or leverage the Index returns.
